A Sea Breeze institution, Don's Original has anchored the end of Culver Road since 1945. "Where quality predominates" is not just an empty slogan; the food is consistently well-prepared, and the staff is friendly without being unctuous. Photos of the area in the 1950s line the walls, adding to the time warp feel. Your Zweigle's hots, ground rounds, and sandwich plates are prepared as you watch, and can be served up with fat fries or homemade onion rings or soup. Their chocolate almond frozen custard is a Rochester legend.

It's not as succulent as a hot dog, but they do have garden burgers, and grilled cheese on rye approximates a meal. Sides abound, including the dreamy fries...for vegetarian fast food, you could do a lot worse.

Best chocolate almond custard in town! Way better than Abotts that has basically just become a chain restaurant.

Don's Original demolishes every competitor, whether old or new, with it's
FRESH GROUND ROUND Burgers, No ordinary hamburger meat HERE!!!!
We've been going here for years & never found any place in the U.S. that even comes close to the fresh, juicey, mouth-watering flavours here!
The "Fresh cut" French Fries HERE are worthy of praise in this era of frozen fries.
The Hot Meaty Chili sauce that grace Juicey Ground Rounds, Hot Dogs, Sublime Onion Rings & Fresh Hot Fries is nothing short of SUPERB & addictively delicious, as well! The Freshly made Chocolate Almond Frozen Custard is so chocolaty & satisfying it's outrageously good!
What don't I like? The fact I have to go home because I can't eat anymore but if I had another stomach I'd stay for sure!!!!!!! Ambience?-Schambience! Who needs DECOR?
This place has QUALITY & FLAVOUR Nailed!!!! Worthy of a James Beard Award for perpetual & continuous EXCELLENCE!!!!
