Max at the Gallery is situated inside the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester's premier art museum. The restaurant's seating overlooks the sculpture court. As you admire the art, start your meal at Max at the Gallery with a poached jumbo shrimp cocktail with traditional cocktail sauce and peach mango chutney sauce, or with the Gallery Greek plate (lamb, marinated eggplant, cucumber, cured olives, tomato, feta, and bulgur wheat salad). Sample one of the crepes du jour for your main dish, or try the marinated grilled chicken gyros with cucumber salsa and tzatsiki on flat bread. If seafood suits your fancy, try the grilled rainbow trout over warm spinach, walnut, and lentil salad or the panko crusted Atlantic salmon with tomato, arugula, pancetta, and herb aioli. The hours of the restaurant are limited due to museum hours, so calling ahead for a reservation is a good idea.
