Local well-known chefs (and co-owners of Mise en Place) Seth Lindahl and Kenneth Holenbeck gutted and transformed the basement bar of the historic German House to create an earthy bistro serving a menu of modern American dishes made with ingredients sourced from local purveyors. Among menu items such as pasta, five different cuts of dry-aged steak, salads, starters, and specialty entrees, notable selections include a slow-cooked pork shoulder served with crispy polenta, rapini, and a natural au jus; fennel sausage sliders topped with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, and garlic Dijon aioli; seared Atlantic salmon served with lentils, salsify (a root with a flavor compared to oysters), carrot nage, frisee, and crispy shallots; and sides like polenta fries topped with parmesan and truffle oil, or honey Dijon roasted Brussels sprouts. The restaurant also serves wine, beer, and specialty cocktails.

SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Took my fiance here for dinner tonight. The food was just devine!
We had the Mushroom Arancini for appetizer, I had the Angus NY Strip, and my fiance had a wonderful pasta dish. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server was delightful, attentive, and knowledgeable. The place has a nice romantic vibe. What a great experience, we will definately be going back.
